Rtn. Md. Sarowar Morshed PHF, President
Md. Sarowar Morshed, who has joined with RC Baridhara on Sep’13 and currently holding the role of President Elect for 2020-21. He also performed the role of Joint Secretary twice and Membership Director in the past.
He has completed his B Comm. (Honors Business Administration) degree from University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. After completing his degree, he has worked 1 year in Canada and then pursued his career in Bangladesh in Apparel accessories industries for last 15 years. He has worked for different US based multinational & local conglomerate organizations in different functional & senior management positions which were Paxar Bangladesh Ltd., Avery Dennison Bangladesh Ltd., R-Pac Bangladesh Ltd. and Shore To Shore Bangladesh Ltd. He has obtained numerous local & international professional training while working for these organizations from Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, China, India and USA as well as local professional training organizations/institutions.
Currently, he is holding a joint venture business organization with Hong Kong & Turkey in the similar industry. He is a Permanent Member of Barisal Club Ltd. & Gulshan North Club Ltd. Also a Gold member of Indian Importers Chambers of Commerce & Industry (IICCI) Bangladesh Ltd. He is married & an avid traveler, visited 25+ countries in his entire life.
Rtn Safwan Hossain Khan PHF, Immediate Past President
Rotarian Safwan Khan is a tech maestro and transformational leader having extensive exposure in Telecommunication business. He is one of few Certified Blockchain Experts in the country as well as member of Blockchain Council. Currently, he is working as a Head of Market Research in Grameenphone Ltd. Prior to joining Grameenphone; he worked in The World Bank as an Economic Researcher. In 15 years of professional career, he worked in different roles in diverse markets and geographic arenas with excellent records of growing businesses. He is a member of different associations, social clubs, and foundations across the country. He participated in different trainings, seminars and workshops in the country & abroad as a resources person. He is an alumnus of INSEAD, one of the top business schools of the world.
Rotarian Khan is a second generation Rotarian, joined in Rotary Club of Baridhara in August, 2009. In last 10 years, he has served actively in different roles and led multiple projects. He also served in the district as Assistant District Treasurer in 2011-2012. He was awarded as Zonal Best Club Secretary in 2012-13.
He is married to Shegoofta Zaker, PHF, an academician and daughter of PDG Abul Hasnat Md. Zaker, MPHF and PDFL Jesmine Zaker, PHF. He is blessed with two daughters and his family was the first family to become Paul Harris Fellow in District-3280 in 2011-2012. His elder daughter Adira Safwan was the youngest PHF in the District 3280 at the age of 4 during that time.
He is married to Shegoofta Zaker, PHF, an academician and daughter of PDG Abul Hasnat Md. Zaker, MPHF and PDFL Jesmine Zaker, PHF. He is blessed with two daughters and his family was the first family to become Paul Harris Fellow in District-3280 in 2011-2012. His elder daughter Adira Safwan was the youngest PHF in the District 3280 at the age of 4 during that time.
Rtn. Syed Enamul Husain PHF, Vice President
Rtn. Syed Enamul Husain is a graduate of Department of Physics (11th Batch) of Jahangirnagar University. He is currently the Vice Principal of ONNESHA International School & College teaching Physics. Before he switched his career to teaching, he served in various capacities in the corporate world. He was the Bangladesh Manager of SYF Group, Inc. and Eco-Container Corporation, Inc. He was store manager of Store 24, Inc in West Newton, Boston, USA. In Menomonie, Wisconsin, USA he was the Director Operations of Sumair, Inc – a holding company of a C-store chain.
Upon his return to Bangladesh from the United States, he was the Project Director of Winners Creations Limited overseeing building construction of 10 line garments manufacturing plant in Karol-Shurichala, Shafipur, Gazipur. He joined Rotary Club of Baridhara in July 2014. He was the Bulletin Editor of the club for two and a half years. He also edited four Installation Souvenirs of the club. He also edited the club’s Directory of Members. He has been a regular board member of the club from Rotary Year 2015-2016 till date. He led the club as its President during the Rotary 2018-2019
Rtn. Javed Hyder Kareem. Vice President
Rotarian Javed Hyder Kareem was born in a respectable Muslim family in Dhaka on August 1st. 1955. He is currently employed in The Embassy of the State of Kuwait as Public Relations Officer since1980. In addition, he has been teaching English for 36 years. He was the coordinator of the English Language Program at Dhaka YMCA where he taught Communicative English from January 1980 to July 1998. In August 1998, he set up Language Proficiency Center, his own English Language Institute in Dhaka, initially as a family charity, to offer English language Course and basic computer skills to professionals and students from disadvantaged background.
Currently, he is the Director of Language Proficiency Center. He organizes and leads a group of ELT professionals with a view to provide high quality English language teaching opportunities across the country. He is implementing the US Government funded English Access Program in Bangladesh as one of the Service Providers. He also conducted Training of Trainers Program in his facilities across the country. Besides, he also conducted a series of Communicative English Programs for Imams under US government grants. He has set up a school for the underprivileged in Rajshahi in 2014 with the objective of providing quality education to less privileged students.
Mr. Kareem did his MSS in International Relations from Dhaka University. He has attended a number of training programs on English Language Teaching in the United States. He is married and has two children.
